Okhta Park

About

“Okhta Park” is a spacious 30 m² bathhouse built using the Canadian notch technique from massive logs with diameters ranging from 80 to 95 cm.

The bathhouse is part of a public bath complex and includes an annex built using the Post-and-Beam technology, which serves as a technical facility. This facility houses a gas heating system with a burner, which transfers heat through the technical subfloor to the main stove.

The project features a German EOS stove, encased in serpentinite, ensuring gentle heating and long-lasting heat retention.

The interior finishing includes polished wood treated with natural oil. Benches are made from cedar slabs—thick, solid planks from whole cedar logs.

The bathhouse is equipped with panoramic glazing, offering a scenic view of the swimming pool and the surrounding forest, creating a truly immersive and relaxing experience.

Energy efficiency

  • Large logs (80-95 cm in diameter) provide high thermal insulation, minimizing heat loss.
  • Canadian notching and tight log fitting ensure excellent heat retention, even in cold climates.
  • Gas heating system with heat transfer through the technical subfloor makes the bathhouse economical and energy-efficient.

Ecological materials

  • The primary material, Siberian cedar, is naturally antiseptic and free of harmful emissions.
  • The use of natural oils instead of lacquer preserves the wood’s breathability and natural properties.
  • The project includes a fire suppression system with dry standpipes, enhancing overall safety.

The “Okhta Park” project is a modern, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly bathhouse, combining traditional wooden architecture with advanced engineering solutions. Its panoramic glazing, natural materials, and innovative heating technology make it comfortable, safe, and ideal for public use.
