About

The “Canadian” project is a unique wooden house with a sauna, built using the Post & Beam construction method. The exterior is finished with 180 mm imitation timber siding combined with Shindel (hand-split wooden shingles), giving the house a natural and stylish appearance.

A distinctive feature of the project is its large glazing area, which creates a bright and open interior. This was made possible by the Post & Beam technology, allowing for the use of large glass panels without compromising structural integrity.

The roof is covered with soft shingles, providing durability, sound insulation, and resistance to weather conditions. The total area of the house is 135 m².

An additional challenge in this project was the complexity of material delivery, as the house is located in a mountainous region. Due to the difficult terrain, logs had to be offloaded from trucks onto large off-road vehicles, which then forded a river and climbed steep mountain slopes to reach the construction site.

Energy efficiency

The project was designed with modern energy efficiency standards in mind. Insulation follows a frame-based system:

  • Walls150 mm of mineral wool, ensuring excellent thermal insulation and protection against cold.
  • Roof200 mm of mineral wool, reducing heat loss and optimizing heating costs.
  • Underfloor heating is installed throughout the house, ensuring comfortable temperatures all year round.

Heating is provided by gas boilers and heat pumps, allowing flexible temperature control and reduced energy consumption.

Ecological materials

The “Canadian” project is designed with a focus on natural materials and sustainable solutions. The house is built from Siberian cedar, a durable and environmentally friendly wood that helps maintain a healthy indoor climate without requiring chemical treatments.

The “Canadian” project was designed as a flexible and adaptable solution, making it easy to modernize, expand, or scale down as needed.

The house itself combines modern technology, eco-friendliness, and high comfort standards, making it an ideal choice for those who value natural materials, energy efficiency, and a harmonious living environment.
